Topsail Steamer, a seafood dining concept based in North Carolina, appeared on Shark Tank in 2024. The business was founded by Danielle Mahon, who created a unique dining experience where customers could enjoy fresh seafood in a fun, interactive way by steaming their meal right at the table. Topsail Steamer offers a variety of seafood—such as shrimp, crab, mussels, and clams—served in a steaming pot with potatoes, corn, and seasoning, allowing customers to cook their meal right in front of them. The concept taps into the growing desire for interactive and immersive dining experiences, setting itself apart from traditional restaurants.

When Danielle pitched on Shark Tank, she was seeking an investment to help expand their concept to other locations. Their pitch caught the attention of two Sharks: Lori Greiner and Todd Graves. Lori, known for her expertise in consumer products and retail, and Todd, the founder of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, were drawn to the brand’s potential for growth and its unique offering. They saw the scalability of the business model and the opportunity to expand the brand beyond its original location. After some negotiation, they struck a deal with Danielle: a $350,000 investment for a 18% stake in the business.
The partnership with Lori and Todd provided Topsail Steamer with both financial backing and valuable business expertise. Since their appearance on Shark Tank, the business has successfully expanded, and the brand has gained significant visibility, making it a popular destination for seafood lovers who want to enjoy a hands-on dining experience. The deal with Lori and Todd helped Topsail Steamer scale its operations, increase its brand recognition, and continue to grow in the competitive seafood restaurant market.
